This evening, Tottenham Hotspur will play in their biggest game of the season, and in some three eyars, as they host Liverpool in the first leg of the 24/25 Carabao Cup semi-finals. The poor form in the league will soon be forgotten, if Ange's side are able to advance to the final. Either way, that will not be confirmed tonight, but we could have a much clearer idea either way.
Safe to say that, as we all know, Ange is pretty hamstrung for this game. He is without all three of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Ben Davies, as well as Wilson Odobert and Richarlison, who although is back in first team training, Ange understandably wants to wait until he has been back for a couple of weeks.
On top of all these injuries, the yellow cards James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr picked up in the win over Manchester United in the last round means that they are both suspended for this game - though they will be available for the second leg at Anfield, which takes place in early February.
So, with all of that in mind, Ange has opted for a line up of; Kinsky; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bentancur, Bissouma, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son.
The substitutes bench consists of; Austin, Dorrington, Reguilon, Olusei, Moore, Min-hyeok, Johnson, Werner, and Lankshear.
The manager has made x changes from the line up against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, with Kinsky, Bentancur, Bissouma, Bergvall, and Son replacing Austin, Maddison, Sarr, Johnson, and Werner.
There is a debut for Kinsky just days after joining, whilst Bergvall gets a big opportunity in the absence of Maddison. Ange could have feasibly played Johnson, with Kulusevski in midfield, so it a show of confidence in the 18-year old. There is a first place in a match day squad for Min-hyeok.
In the red corner, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has opted for a line up of; Alisson; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Diaz. Some changes, but perhaps, at least on current form - their best XI - barring Quansah.
No doubt about it, this will be an incredibly tough game, regardless of how poor Liverpool were on Sunday. If anything, it feels more concerning that they got a bad performance out of their system. So far this season, Slot's side have never gone more than one game without a victory, which does not bode too well ahead of this game, but let's see.
