TORINO v AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW | OneFootball

Our final away game of the season and penultimate fixture in 2023/24. Having qualified for the Champions League and clinched second place, the Rossoneri only have their return fixtures against Torino and Salernitana left to play. We've only won one of our last ten matches at the Grande Torino (a 7-0 victory on 12 May 2021), and a win would give us an opportunity to reach the 80-point mark going into our final game of the campaign. Here is our Match Preview ahead of tonight's 20:45 CEST kick-off.

LATEST FROM MILANELLO We head into the clash with the Granata on the back of recording our first win in over a month after a 5-1 home success against Cagliari. Compared to the match against the Sardinians, Matteo Gabbia will be out through suspension, while Chukwueze will also be missing due to injury. However, Mike Maignan has been training with the group for the past few days and could be available. Simon Kjær and Ruben Loftus-Cheek remain sidelined. This week, it was officially announced that Giroud would be leaving the Club. Oli's final two AC Milan matches will thus be against Torino and Salernitana. Torino are the side he has the best goals-per-minute ratio against (one every 86 minutes), but he's never scored at the Olimpico Grande Torino. Coach Pioli, who is one booking away from missing the match against Salernitana, could opt for changes.

Our coach had the following to say in his pre-match press conference. "It's been a good week: beating Cagliari and clinching second place has allowed us to be calmer. I think this sense of calm could help us perform to a high standard to finish the season well. We'll be coming up against the team that have the best defensive record at home in Serie A."

LATEST FROM TORINO Jurić also has some thinking to do in terms of his starting eleven choices. Captain Buongiorno and Duván Zapata, who aren't in peak condition physically, might not start. In Jurić's 3-4-2-1 formation, Lovato (one booking away from suspension) and Pellegri, a former Rossonero who bagged the winner in Torino's last outing against Verona at the Bentegodi, are hoping to get the nod over them. Schuurs, Gineitis and Vlašić are out. The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino is close to sold-out, with over 22,000 spectators set to fill the stands. The Granata still have a small chance of qualifying for the Europa League, but their destiny depends on other teams' results. Rodriguez, who is walking the suspension tightrope, should be selected in defence.

"I expect an intense match. They have great champions in their ranks, and we need to pay attention," said Ivan Jurić on the eve of the match. "Our matches against AC Milan are always great affairs; only in our last meeting was our performance poor. At home, we've done well in a lot of games."

LATEST FROM SERIE A Ermanno Feliciani will take charge of the match in Turin. It'll be the 33-year-old's first game involving the Rossoneri, but he has refereed Torino before (a 0-0 draw against Hellas Verona on 2 October 2023). Bottegoni and Lombardo will be Feliciani's assistants, while Camplone will perform the role of fourth official. Meanwhile, Mazzoleni and Di Paolo will oversee VAR.

Matchday 37 in Serie A kicked off with Fiorentina 2-2 Napoli on Friday. Saturday will see both Lecce v Atalanta (18:00 CEST) and Torino v AC Milan (20:45 CEST) take place. The lunchtime kick-off on Sunday will be Sassuolo v Cagliari, after which Monza v Frosinone (15:00 CEST), Udinese v Empoli (15:00 CEST), Inter v Lazio (18:00 CEST) and Roma v Genoa (20:45 CEST) will be played. Two Monday fixtures are in store: Salernitana v Hellas Verona (18:30) and Bologna v Juventus (20:45 CEST).
