The LA Galaxy are making headlines and history in 2025. During the 30th MLS regular season, the Los Angeles Galaxy are not enjoying this year.

It took the six-time MLS Cup winners 17 games to find their first win. Along the way, the LA Galaxy managed to rack up a few own goals.

Two of them happened in May, including the 1-0 defeat on the road to Sporting Kansas City. An own goal from the captain, Maya Yoshida, cost the LA Galaxy the game.

In their next match, what looked like a 6-0 loss on the road to the New York Red Bulls, became a 7-0 massacre thanks to another LA Galaxy own goal. This time, veteran defender Miki Yamane tallied this blunder.

Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Galaxy couldn't respond to an own goal midway through the first half. Defender Julian Aude had the soccer ball ricochet off of him and past goalkeeper Novak Micovic.

The Seattle Sounders went on to score three goals of their own to make it 4-0 on Sunday night.

The LA Galaxy are no stranger to own goals. In fact, in 2019 against Atlanta United, they racked up two in the same game.

Next up for the LA Galaxy is Lionel Messi and Inter Miami. The 2024 MLS Cup champions will travel to Florida this weekend in what is virtually a must-win if the Galaxy hopes to make an improbable playoff push.
