On Wednesday night, Alexander Isak became the first Newcastle United striker to score 20 league goals in consecutive seasons in the Premier League era.

Shaun Wright Phillips summing up the talents of the striker from Sweden perfectly; “Alexander Isak is probably the most complete striker there is out there. He does everything.”

His all round play is exceptional but goals is the name of the business and in 101 appearances since arriving at St James’ Park, Alexander Isak has had 68 direct goal involvements, scoring 59 goals and getting nine assists.

“Alexander Isak is probably the most complete striker there is out there.

“He does everything.

“If you want to press from the front, he can press from the front.

“If you don’t want to press from the front and you want to play with a target man, we’ve seen him do that as well.

“He scores horrible goals, he scores beautiful goals, he scores solo goals, and he creates goals as well.

“What more do you want in a striker?

“He also has that rare quality where he can also create goals by himself. He’s a striker that doesn’t rely on people.

“If you back off him, he can go past you or put it in the top corner.

“It’s great to see that back in football, he’s like Drogba or Henry.

“He’s a striker that does his job properly.”
