‘Thinking about it’ – Barcelona star could be handed first start of the season vs Sevilla | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that he is giving consideration to reintroducing Frenkie de Jong to his starting XI for the club’s meeting with Sevilla.

Flick’s Barca are of course primed to return to action on Sunday evening.

Sitting pretty atop the La Liga table, the Blaugrana will play host to the aforementioned Sevilla, eyeing a 9th win from ten to open the La Liga campaign.

And, in efforts towards as much, the Catalans could yet be aided by the return to starting duties of a key performer.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Hansi Flick was drawn on his plans for his XI for Sunday night.

And the German tactician went on to confirm that Frenkie de Jong, fresh off a return from a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, could well be included:

“I’m thinking about starting Frenkie tomorrow because he is ready, but we will see.”
