The recent El Clásico continues to generate interest and praise towards FC Barcelona. After all, beyond just being a match for the ages, it was yet another victory for the Catalan giants. With this win, Barcelona are now seven points clear at the top of the La Liga table.

Now one step closer to winning the league title itself, La Blaugrana just need one more win to seal it. However, the win over Real Madrid more or less guarantees that Barcelona will come away with the trophy as long as they just manage one more win from their last three games in the league.

Toni Kroos remains impressed with Barcelona

However, as for the El Clasico itself, there has been a lot of praise for Barcelona lately because of it. Recently, even Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos gave his thoughts on the match and, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, spoke about the fact that even an early 2-0 lead to Real Madrid never felt like a match-winning state:

“That’s been the feeling all season. Even after going 2–0 up, I still had doubts that the match would tilt in Madrid’s favor, to be honest. Being 2–0 up felt like a blessing.”

Instead, Toni Kroos praised the resilience with which Barcelona plays and how Hansi Flick’s team is able to simply shrug off any negative feelings despite being in a difficult spot during the game:

“What’s really impressive about Barça is they keep playing like nothing’s happened. There’s no fear of losing. You could tell that even after Madrid’s 2–0 lead, there were still doubts on our side.”

Further praise for Hansi Flick’s team

Further talking about Barcelona, he praised their play in possession and highlighted how Real Madrid could not even play with their typical confidence no matter what the score was:

“They’re so comfortable in possession. Madrid didn’t come into the game with great confidence, and what’s surprising is that even with that early lead, they couldn’t capitalize. That’s surprising.”

While this is good praise from Toni Kroos, the German veteran has also said good things about the club and a certain Barcelona midfielder previously this season as well. Hailing Pedri as the best in his position, it seems that even Kroos cannot help but applaud the way Barça and its players have been showing up this season.
