Divine Mukasa had a superb 24/25 season at youth level for Manchester City.

Divine Mukasa signed for Manchester City from the West Ham academy in September 2023. After a period of adjustment at the club he made a tremendous impact for Manchester City’s under-18 side last season. In 37 appearances in City’s under-18 set up, he scored 17 goals and added 25 assists. He also made four appearances for Manchester City’s EDS side. Those numbers are tremendous. They show the impact that Mukasa made last season but they only tell part of the story. His efforts were also rewarded as Mukasa was named Manchester City’s under-18 Players Player of the Season.

There is a flair to Divine Mukasa’s game that cannot be taught. He can pick out a defence-splitting pass with ease, and his ability to score goals makes him a dangerous attacking midfielder. The dribbling ability of Mukasa is also immense. His delivery from set pieces is deadly, so in possession, Mukasa is a tantalising prospect. Out of possession, there is work to be done regarding Mukasa’s work rate and pressing, but that should come in time.

Where Divine Mukasa plays next season is worth keeping an eye as are his performances.

At what level Divine Mukasa plays next season is worth keeping an eye on. He is only 17 years of age. He could play another season at under-18 level for Manchester City. But based on his talent and how easy he made playing at under-18 level look at times last season it may be time for Divine Mukasa to become a member of the Manchester City EDS side. That would be the best move for his development as a player and would give him a bigger challenge. That may be where he spends the 25/26 season.

There is also hope that Divine Mukasa could break through for the odd appearance in the Manchester City first team. If he can break through and get on the bench for Pep Guardiola’s side, that would be a massive moment for Mukasa. There are high hopes for him as a player and if he can build on his impressive 24/25 season next season it wouldn’t be a surprise to be talking about Mukasa as the next youngster to break into the City first team ahead of the 26/27 season.
