‘The star of La Liga’ – Real Madrid legend lauds Barcelona winger after Mallorca win | OneFootball

Recently, even Real Madrid legend Steve McManaman could not resist praising the young winger after the game against RCD Mallorca. For him, Yamal’s extraordinary talent is a joy to watch, even if it sometimes leaves opponents frustrated.

As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, McManaman spoke about his excellent goal against Mallorca, and also claimed that Yamal is the star of La Liga right now:

“His goal was fantastic. We talked about him at the beginning of the game and last year as well. He is the star of La Liga this year, and he showed it with that final shot. He has been absolutely brilliant.”

The former Real Madrid player also commended Yamal’s versatility and claimed that the youngster would only end up getting better with time:

“He has the ability to play on the left, where he is strong, but also on the right, and to get past opponents. He has everything right now, and he’s only going to get better.”

However, he also did leave a warning of sorts when it comes to the 18-year-old Barcelona star. Speaking about the number of minutes he tends to play, McManaman warned that it could become an issue due to his ability to infuriate opponents. Still, he could not help but claim that it is a joy to watch him play:

“I just hope that Barcelona, I’ve said it several times, don’t always use him when the matches are already going very well, because sometimes he infuriates the opponent with his great talent. But what a player we have! It’s a joy to come here to watch him.”
