‘The praise goes to Lamine, but…’ – Arsène Wenger names the player who makes Barcelona ‘special’ | OneFootball

Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona.

The player in question? Pedri.

Spanish international Pedri is for his part of course in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular individual campaign to date.

Whilst attackers the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have so often stolen the headlines across Spain, Barcelona’s engine room star has been arguably the Blaugrana’s most consistent performer.

Many, in fact, have gone as far as to label Pedri world football’s very best midfielder.

And as alluded to above, adding his name to the long list of Pedri’s admirers this week was none other than Arsène Wenger.

Speaking during an appearance on beIN Sports, as cited by Diario Sport, iconic tactician Wenger gushed:

“Now all the praise goes to Lamine Yamal, but I would highlight Pedri. For me Pedri is incredible, I kneel before him.

“The science of midfield is in Pedri’s legs and head. He’s a fantastic player and Barça certainly notice it. His game makes Barça special.”
