‘The piranha’ – Barcelona star’s nickname revealed | OneFootball

The nickname afforded to Barcelona star Marc Casadó by his teammates has on Monday been revealed.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards Casadó as being known in the dressing room as ‘the piranha’.

Casadó has of course spent recent weeks solidifying himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick.

The 21-year-old has built a stellar deep-lying midfield partnership with Pedri, shining both in and out of possession.

Casadó’s influence in the attacking third has been increasingly apparent over the last fortnight in particular, with the Spaniard having notched an assist in each of his last three appearances.

It is his tenacity on the defensive side of the ball, though, which has earned Casadó his nickname behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘His attitude is reminiscent of footballers like Puyol and his aggressiveness has earned him the nickname of piranha.’
