Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will miss this afternoon’s game against Dundee United as he continues to recover from injury. The Dane has been out of action for April after picking up an injury on International Duty.
Vil Sinisalo will start in goals with Scott Bain on the bench. However, fans will have been pleased to see Schmeichel on the pitch working with Stevie Woods and the goalkeepers ahead of kick off at Tannadice.
The big goalie was seen with his gloves on, engaging in the warmup of the other goalkeepers before then working around the rest of the team, providing encouragement.
Schmeichel will be eager to be involved as Celtic look to clinch the title this afternoon and he has been an inspired signing, stepping into the void left by Joe Hart.
It is not clear how long Schmeichel has left on the sidelines but it appears that he is stepping up his recovery. The experienced stopper will be looking to get back into the team ahead of the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen. Next weekend’s Glasgow Derby at Ibrox may be too soon for Schmeichel but it is pleasing to see him back on the pitch after there were fears that his season could be over.
