Levi Colwill is always immaculate when speaking to the press, as we were reminded last week when he thanked Chelsea fans after the Blues beat Tottenham.
This week it’s the official Chelsea website he’s been speaking to, and the defender once again raised a rallying cry which should get everyone ready for a massive clash with Ipswich this afternoon.
The win over Tottenham was followed by a disappointing draw with Brentford, and that’s just what Colwill thinks we need to eliminate – the inconsistency which has hurt us all year.
“Momentum is the biggest thing. And if our confidence is high, I think we’ll beat anyone. So we’ve got to carry that on and get the win against Ipswich. Hopefully, we can try and keep a clean sheet and win the game,” Colwill said of this afternoon’s massive clash.
“Every team in the league has had ups and downs this season. So have we. When we’re playing our football, I think we’re unstoppable. We’ve got to keep doing that. We’ve got to push on with the momentum and hopefully get a win today.”

Arsenal’s slip against Brentford yesterday was another reminder that they’re a decent team (Brentford, that is) and we shouldn’t beat ourselves up too much about failing to beat them.
We need every point we can get, but as Colwill says, we can also expect those us around us to drop a point here or there. Newcastle face Manchester United later today, with Bournemouth and Fulham facing off tomorrow night in another game that will be huge for our European future.
That means points are guaranteed to be dropped around us in the table – making it all the more important that we get the job done today.
