A whole host of Baggies players will see their contracts expire in June 2025 as things stand

West Brom have made a strong start to the 2024-25 Championship season, and are in the early mix for promotion to the Premier League as things stand.

Carlos Corberan’s side narrowly missed out on a return to the top flight last year, losing to Southampton in the play-off semi-finals after coming fifth in the table.

The Baggies will be aiming to go one step further in 2025, as they eye a return to the upper echelons of English football.

Albion will also need to have an eye on next summer though, as they have a number of players who could potentially depart the club for nothing, as things stand.

Here we take a look at the seven West Brom players with expiring contracts, who could all become free agents at the end of this campaign…

Grady Diangana

Grady Diangana has been with West Brom on a permanent basis since 2020, having initially joined on loan from West Ham in the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old has been a regular presence in the team under Corberan, playing 36 times last season as the club earned a play-off place.

Game-time has been more difficult to come by this year, with the forward starting just one of their opening nine league fixtures, coming off the bench five times.

Diangana is now into the final year of his contract with the Midlands outfit, so he will be hoping to earn more playing time in order to prove his importance to Albion going forward - given there was plenty of interest last summer from the likes of Leicester, Leeds and clubs in Saudi Arabia, expect the playmaker to be in-demand if his contract does run down.

Darnell Furlong

Darnell Furlong has been at The Hawthorns for over five years now, having signed for West Brom in 2019, joining from QPR.

The full-back has been a regular starter for the Baggies during his time at the club, especially under Corberan.

He featured in all 46 of their regular league games last season, starting 44 times, and had also started all nine of their opening league fixtures this campaign as well.

However, he is set to become a free agent in the summer unless a new deal can be agreed before then.

John Swift

John Swift signed for the Baggies from Reading in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer, and has made a total of 91 league appearances during his time at the club.

He’s contributed 15 goals and 10 assists, and was an important part of their run to the play-offs last season.

However, his time at West Brom could come to an end in 2025 unless a new deal is agreed, and he is really lacking in goal contributions already compared to past years.

Jayson Molumby

Jayson Molumby joined Albion in the summer of 2022 on a permanent basis after an initial loan spell from Brighton in the previous campaign.

The midfielder has cemented himself as a regular presence in Corberan’s first team plans, starting six of their opening nine league games so far this season.

But his contract is set to expire next year, meaning he could depart the club as a free agent in 2025 as things stand.

Semi Ajayi

Semi Ajayi’s time at West Brom could also come to an end in 2025 unless a new deal can be agreed.

The defender has started all nine of the team’s opening league games, cementing himself as an important part of their upcoming promotion push this year.

He has been with the Baggies since joining from Rotherham United in the summer of 2019.

Kyle Bartley

Kyle Bartley has an option to extend his current West Brom contract by a further 12 months, although it remains unclear whether this will be exercised.

The defender has made a strong case for the club to keep him by performing well to start the new campaign, starting in all nine of their opening games.

Bartley will now be hoping to play his way into another year's deal, but he will be 34 years of age by the time next summer comes around.

Ted Cann

Ten Cann also has an option to extend his contract by another 12 months, but it is unclear whether this will be exercised.

The goalkeeper has yet to make his senior debut for the club.
