Leicester City claimed the 2023/24 Championship title following a successful campaign in which the Foxes won 97 points, one more than that of second-placed Ipswich Town.

But the title winning season wasn't always plane sailing for Enzo Maresca's men, who lost 11 games, including two defeats in their last five games against Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers.

Furthermore, the Foxes found themselves subject to allegations that they had breached the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules prior to their relegation from the top-flight, and back in March, Sky Sports reported that the club had failed to submit their 2022/23 season financial accounts.

Due to the fact that both Everton and Nottingham Forest have suffered points deductions this season for breaking the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, Enzo Maresca's men were left fearful of facing the same fate.

However, as per BBC Sport, the Foxes did not suffer a points deduction, as the English Football League said it did not have the power to punish its clubs for breaches of Premier League rules.

But the Leicester Mercury reported that the King Power Stadium outfit had lost a combined total of £182m in the last two seasons, so while Maresca will look to bolster his squad in order to adjust to life back in the top-flight, the club may have to sell some of their assets this summer in an effort to balance the books.

These are five Foxes players who could attract serious transfer interest this summer:

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall played an absolutely vital role in securing his club's immediate Premier League return, producing an impressive return of 12 goals and a whopping 14 assists in 44 Championship matches.

The Foxes academy graduate had a stellar campaign in which only Southampton hotshot Adam Armstrong, Championship Golden Boot winner Sammie Szmodics, Leeds ace Crysencio Summerville, and Plymouth talisman Morgan Whittaker managed more goal contributions in the second tier.

Dewsbury-Hall's match-winning performances throughout the 2023/24 season have caught the eye of Premier League trio Brighton, Brentford, and Fulham, according to the Mail Online.

The Foxes' promotion to the top flight could be enough to stave off interest in one of their star men but as the summer goes on, more clubs are likely to be interested in Dewsbury-Hall and Maresca could have a tough task on his hands trying to keep him at the King Power stadium.

Due to the Englishman's ability to both score and create a high number of goals, the Foxes should be keen to keep hold of Dewsbury-Hall if possible.

Patson Daka

Zambia international Patson Daka played in less than half of the Foxes' 2023/24 Championship games, making just 20 appearances and only 15 starts.

However, he still played his part in the side's title success, scoring seven goals and producing five assists despite often missing out on the action.

According to FotMob, the 25-year-old boasts an impressive goals per 90 ratio of 0.58, further epitomising his clear ability to score goals in a small amount of game time.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo credited La Liga side Real Betis with interest in Daka back in February and the Seville-based outfit could make their swoop for the ace this summer.

The lack of starting XI opportunities Daka was afforded by Maresca during the 2023/24 season could indicate that the Foxes are willing to allow the Zambian to leave the club during the transfer window, while his eye for goal is an attractive proposition for potential suitors.

Maresca should look to sell Daka this window because although he has a dangerous eye for goal, he is clearly not fancied as a starting XI player, and the Foxes should take the transfer window as an opportunity to cash in.

Abdul Fatawu

Abdul Fatawu was a class act for the Foxes during a 2023/24 loan spell from Portuguese side Sporting CP, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists in 40 appearances and 33 starts.

Sky Sports have reported that after winning promotion, the Foxes have an obligation to buy the Ghana international for £14.5m and amid interest from Premier League and Champions League clubs, Maresca's outfit could even buy and sell the winger in the same transfer window.

At just 20 years old, Fatawu would be a great signing, who has lots of potential and has already proven that he can be an asset for a side that are chasing silverware, as he contributed towards the Foxes' Championship title-winning campaign.

Amid the uncertainty at the club regarding profit and sustainability rules, buying Fatawu for £14.5m and selling the starlet for a profit could be a smart move for Maresca and co to make.

Conor Coady

England international Conor Coady, who has bags of Premier League experience, arrived at the King Power Stadium last summer with a big reputation earned during his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, the former Wolves man did not contribute to the Foxes' 2023/24 campaign as much as many would have thought, appearing just 12 times in the Championship, and earning a place in Maresca's starting XI on only eight occasions.

Given his lack of minutes in a Leicester shirt, there is bound to be transfer interest in Coady, who has proven his worth in the Premier League at Molineux.

While Coady hasn't played as often for the Foxes as he would have liked during their promotion-clinching season, perhaps he is a player Maresca should look to keep due to his top-flight experience, which could help his club avoid the drop next campaign.

Harry Souttar

Harry Souttar is a highly rated 25-year-old who represented Australia at the 2022 World Cup and a central defender who the Foxes signed back in January 2023, when they were a Premier League outfit.

Souttar made 12 top-flight appearances for the Midlands side last campaign, but he was unable to help prevent his side being relegated to the Championship.

Despite the Foxes title triumph, Souttar has endured a frustrating season in which he made just three appearances, and back in January, he told the Leicester Mercury: "It's not been great that I've not got match minutes at my club, and obviously I know that that can't continue if I want to be a part of the (Australia) national team."

Last summer, the defender was linked with a loan move to Scottish Premiership giants Rangers, and this summer a move away from the King Power stadium seems inevitable given Souttar's lack of minutes and Australia ambitions.
