The 2024-25 season is already over, and the FC Barcelona fans will have to wait quite some time before they can again see their team in action in official matches of the next season.

However, this does not mean that they will not have exciting football action on display involving the Blaugrana players, as international matches are underway.

In one such match, the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League, several Barcelona players participated, but none of them shone as brightly as the young winger Lamine Yamal.

Lamine Yamal shines against France

This match was full of goals, ending 5-4 in the Iberians’ favour. Yamal got 2 goals to his name and also provided an assist to help his team reach the final of the competition and to get named as the MOTM of this game.

This performance also brought him back as a favourite for the Ballon d’Or, as his main rival, Ousmane Dembele, did not have a very impressive outing.

As SPORT has reported, the youngster also talked to the media after the game and expressed happiness at his team reaching the final:

“It’s normal for France to make you suffer — they’re a great team — but we’re very happy with the win. The final will be a similar match. The best team will win, and hopefully we can bring the trophy back to Spain.”

Yamal also opened up on his secret to his good performances on the pitch:

Lamine Yamal winning this competition will undoubtedly further boost his chances of winning the biggest individual prize in football this year after his wonderful season with Barcelona.
