Chelsea may well have a last minute opportunity to sign a new striker in this January transfer window as a club comes in for their player.
We are drastically running out of time now for clubs in England to do their last bits of business. Chelsea will surely be doing something in these final days although right now, all is rather quiet on the western front.
Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich is probably the most linked attacker to Chelsea right now, and Bayern’s director came out last night and admitted that Tel wants to leave. So he will be off, and Chelsea have a chance of landing him if they really want to.
But Tel is not really an out and out striker, and that is really what Chelsea need. Could there now be another opportunity to perhaps move for another striker this window? Or am I clutching at straws here? Well, Chelsea love a good trade deal!

Cesare Casadei is still a Chelsea player somehow after being in talks to join a couple of Italian sides all month.
And now, according to famous journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Porto have enquired about the Italian midfielder’s availability on Tuesday.
Porto own striker Samu Omorodion, who Chelsea of course got very close to signing in the summer. But perhaps they might reignite that interest late on this month and see if something can be done here?
Yeah, you’re right, I am probably just clutching at straws here because I know Chelsea have a desperate need to add a true number 9 to their squad.
Samu only recently joined Porto so it would probably not even be close to being realistic, but an interesting link to read about all the same.
