Superagent Jorge Mendes travelled to Catalonia earlier this week to finalise the contract renewal of FC Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal.
During the meeting with the club officials, the future of out-of-favour forward Ansu Fati was also discussed, with the youngster now closing in on a move to AS Monaco.
Now, according to Gerard Romero, there was another player who was brought up during the discussions between the superagent and Barça executives.
Indeed, according to Romero, Jorge Mendes happened to mention the name of AC Milan and Portugal forward Rafael Leao during the meeting with Barcelona.
The Blaugrana are on the lookout for a new left-winger heading into the summer transfer window and Leao is a player who has been on the club’s radar in the past.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is understood to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old attacker, who could be leaving Milan this summer following a disappointing campaign for the club.
Leao ended the 2024/25 season with 12 goals and 13 assists from 50 games in all competitions, winning only the Italian Super Cup.
Mendes does not directly represent Leao but has close ties with the player and his camp and as such seemed to bring up his name during the meeting with the La Liga champions.
Recent reports suggested that Barça have cooled down their interest in Leao, with other targets like Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford jumping ahead on the shortlist.
Whether that changes following the meeting with Mendes will be interesting to see, especially with a move for Diaz likely to prove difficult now that Al-Nassr are also targeting a move for the Liverpool ace.
