The recovery from a decade of Mike Ashley’s decade and a half has a long way to go.

However, total revenue for last season (2023/24) is far more than DOUBLE the final full season (2020/21) under Ashley!

These are the total revenue figures for each of the last four seasons, the progress is substantial:

€170.1m (£140.2m) 2020/21 season

€212.2m (£179.7m) 2021/22 season

€287.8m (£250.3m) 2022/23 season

€372.0m (£314.4m) 2023/24 season

(I have used the exchange rate today (23 January 2025) to show the approx £ totals, as all totals announced in the Deloitte report in €)

The breakdown of the total revenues for these last two full seasons of 2022/23 and 2023/24:

Newcastle United 2022/23

Matchday

£37.9m

Broadcasting

£165.5m

Commercial

£46.9m

Total

€287.8m (£250.3m)

Newcastle United 2023/24

Matchday

€68.0m (£57.5m)

Broadcasting

€215.0m (£181.7m)

Commercial

€90.0m (£76.0m)

Total

€372.0m (£314.4m)

These headline Newcastle United revenue figures have been made public via the new 2025 Deloitte Football Money League report. Last season, the club made public their accounts on 11 January 2024 ahead of the 2024 Deloitte report but no sign of the NUFC accounts yet for the 2023/24 season.

So comparing Newcastle United 2022/23 to 2023/24

Matchday

Rises from £37.9m to £57.5m (up £19.6m)

Broadcasting

Rises from £165.5m to £181.7m (up £16.2m)

Commercial

Rises from £46.9m to £76.0m (up £29.7m)

Total

Rises from £250.3m to £314.4m (up £64.1m)

(Rough approximate figures when I have exchanged from Euros to Pounds, so the three figures don’t exactly add up to the total revenue Deloitte announce to nearest whole number when doing their breakdown, the total is also rounded up/down by them to nearest whole number )
