West Ham have offered Callum Wilson a short-term incentive based contract.
In what is a huge shift from the game plan set out by Graham Potter, which is to bring in young & energetic players to east London this summer, it appears the Hammers hierarchy are meddling in acquisitions again.
Although Wilson has had an excellent career in the game and the Premier League in particular, there is no denying that his best days are behind him and he comes with a serious injury risk.
Despite all the talk of change at the club in terms of our process of recruiting players, the move for Wilson feels like a big step backwards and one that screams David Sullivan.
Understandably, the fanbase have reacted with fury over the move, with a desire to see the club to show ambition and more importantly, back Graham Potter in his vision for the club.
The move for Wilson is one many will struggle to get behind, especially after releasing both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, with the hpe things were set to change at the club. Sadly not.
