There’s just enough time to draw breath after the weekend MLS action has ended and before the midweek fare kicks off.

With the European transfer window now closed, why not catch up on all the latest from this side of the pond…

Houston part ways with Nagamura

After nine months and 32 matches in charge, Houston Dynamo have relieved Paulo Nagamura from his duties as first-team manager.

Assistants Jimmy Nielsen and Chris Martinez have been sacked as well. Kenny Bundy will fill in on an interim basis.

Though expectations were reasonably high heading into the season, the Dynamo are currently in last place in the Western Conference on 29 points.

In his 32 games in all competitions, Nagamura’s Dynamo side have limped to 10 wins, five draws, and 17 defeats.

After missing a Panenka that would have kept the Galaxy within one point of Portland for the seventh and final playoff spot (with two games in hand), Javier Hernández and company are three points back and have Seattle hot on their heels.

Whether the Galaxy fanbase will accept Chicharito’s apology remains to be seen.

Musah’s USMNT record

While the USMNT World Cup squad hasn’t been announced, we can only assume that Yunus Musah will be travelling to Qatar.

Musah has been heavily linked to AC Milan in the last few weeks as well. This little stat nugget can only help his cause.

With 8,506 teams in the competition and overseas teams from French territories being able to play since 1962, the Coupe de France is always full of wild and crazy storylines.

This season, L’Asia, hailing from Saint Pierre and Miquelon (population 6,000), have reached the third round of the competition and will travel to face FC Luynes, a 4,000 kilometer (2,485 mile) away trip.
