Southampton have confirmed the return of Flynn Downes from West Ham on a permanent basis.
The midfielder, who moved to London in 2022, was an important figure in the Saints side which secured promotion last season while on loan at St Mary’s.

A deal has now been agreed for an undisclosed fee which sees Downes return to the south coast on a long-term contract.
Sky Sports report that the fee which Russell Martin’s men will pay is in the region of £18m.
The 25-year-old was a Conference League winner during his time with West Ham.
