Southampton are braced to receive Kyle Walker-Peters transfer bids this month, as the Saints full-back is within the last six months of his St Marys contract.

Kyle Walker-Peters is one of Southampton's best players. Ever since he signed from Tottenham Hotspur, the full-back has gone from strength to strength in the Southampton jersey.

Possessing the ability to play on either side of the defence, Kyle Walker-Peters is a real asset to Southampton. However, as the age-old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. This is unfortunately the case even more so at Southampton.

Given that Kyle Walker-Peters runs out of contract at the end of the season, there is an extremely high likelihood that he is playing his last few months at Southampton. Unfortunately, it could also be the case that *this* is his last month at the club.

According to a report from Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider, Southampton are braced for bids, either from the Premier League or abroad, for Kyle Walker-Peters. It is the Saints' last chance to cash on him.

In his own words, O'Rourke said: "Southampton are braced for cut-price bids for out-of-contract full-back Kyle Walker-Peters this month, sources have told Football Insider... Walker-Peters is not set to renew that deal with Southampton set for a second Premier League relegation in three seasons."

It would be incredible if Kyle Walker-Peters were to sign an extended deal with Southampton. However, this is an unfair expectation for the Saints to have, given the quality which KWP possesses.

He shouldn't even be in the bottom half of the Premier League, let alone the Championship for the second time in two seasons. Therefore, while it will be an emotional farewell, he deserves to spread his wings elsewhere.

Within the report, it is stated that Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and West Ham were all interested in signing Walker-Peters in the past. It remains to be seen if either of those clubs make a move in the January transfer window, but Southampton are said to be braced for offers.
