Manchester United are among a quartet of Premier League clubs sizing up a move for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling.

Indeed, the Red Devils have joined Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United in pursuit of the Saints whiz, who’s been linked with a move away from the club ever since their relegation to the Championship was confirmed in April, as per Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg.

Amidst a truly calamitous campaign for Southampton in 2024/2025, Dibling was consistently one silver lining, making it no surprise he’s already being touted for a return to the top flight.

It’s not the first time United have been linked with Dibling, either. After he gave Diogo Dalot a torrid hour lining up against him at St. Mary’s last September, in which Dalot conceded a penalty for bringing the pacey Dibling down in the area, the Reds’ scouts were left so impressed by the display that he was subsequently added to their shortlist.

He accumulated 33 Premier League appearances in his breakout season, scoring twice and assisting once.

Any potential move for the forward will undoubtedly be green-lit by Ruben Amorim, too, as Dibling’s versatility means he can slot in anywhere in the frontline, having featured on both flanks, as a No.9 and as a central attacking midfielder.

Could Dibling be on the move this summer?

Southampton are, understandably, reluctant to part ways with their academy graduate so soon into his senior career, but may feel obliged to sanction his exit if the 19-year-old makes it clear he wants to embark on a new venture.

Additionally, the fact they value him in the region of £47 million – £55 million means any deal could well allow them to reinforce several key positions of Will Still’s squad as he looks to seal promotion back to the first division at his first time of trying.

Former midfielder and ex-technical director of West Ham Tim Steidten claims that while Dibling is attracting interest from top clubs in Germany, the expectation is that he stays in England for the foreseeable future.

“He is an outstanding player – with that street football mentality, that special dynamism. He is a player who can suddenly stop, turn, and accelerate again. His first touch is exceptional. He has immense potential. I believe he will end up being too expensive for a German club, which is why I think he will move within England,” said Steidten, as relayed by Plettenberg.
