Chelsea are still pushing for Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike despite agreeing a deal for Liam Delap according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The Blues are set for another busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea are looking to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad by adding a striker, centre back and right footed attacker as the Blues look to mount a potential title challenge next season.
A striker is the main priority and the Blues have agreed a £30m deal for Delap, with the 22-year-old just needing to sign his contract and undergo a medical.
Chelsea beat the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Everton to Delap’s signature, but it appears the England under-21 international might not be the only striker arriving at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been linked with Ekitike, with Frankfurt said to want €100m for the 22-year-old, and Plettenberg has now provided an update on the situation.
He took to X.com and said:
“Liam #Delap (22, Ipswich) has reached an agreement with Chelsea. Deal progressing well, Chelsea are on the verge of activating the release clause.
“Understand: a Delap transfer does NOT affect a potential move for Hugo #Ekitike. Chelsea still pushing for Ekitike. #CFC @SkySportDE.”
Ekitike scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions as Frankfurt qualified for the Champions League, but it appears he will be on the move this summer.
As well as Ekitike it’s been reported Chelsea are interested in Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha and could look to strike a pre-agreement this summer for 2026.

Emegha has scored 14 goals for Strasbourg this season as they qualified for the Conference League, and it’s thought the Dutch under-21 international is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Despite having Delap and Nicolas Jackson in place it still feels like Chelsea need one more striker given the inexperience of Marc Guiu.
