The 18-year-old right-back is yet to make his debut for Villa, but he is highly-rated by the Midlands outfit, having starred for the academy side that have scooped three trophies this season.

But, the next step will be competitive football, and that’s obviously unlikely to come at Villa Park given the quality available to Unai Emery.

Therefore, a loan move is on the cards, and Football Insider has revealed that both Wednesday and Rovers have already made enquiries over the defender.

They state that the two clubs are making plans to reshape their squad for the new campaign, and they see Rowe as someone who will be able to play in the Championship, after they both missed out on the play-offs.

You would expect Villa to sanction a switch for the player, even if they are likely to want guarantees that the teenager will get game time moving forward.

Obviously, it’s hard to judge Rowe, as he only has experience at youth level, and whilst he is part of a very exciting Villa group, the reality is that the Championship is a massive step-up in terms of physicality, quality and intensity.

But, Rowe is a player that clubs think will be able to handle that jump up in quality, and it makes sense that Wednesday and Blackburn are trying to find gems to bring in on loan.

The reality is that they are two clubs who can’t compete with many rivals in the league when it comes to the resources at their disposal, so it’s not a case of throwing money at players to improve the squad.

Instead, the recruitment teams at Hillsborough and Ewood Park need to try and find bargains, which will include bringing in loan players who can have an impact on the team.

Meanwhile, having played at academy level so far in his short career, the chance to move to Wednesday or Blackburn would be a brilliant opportunity for Rowe, giving him the platform to show what he can do in the second tier.
