The future of Ansu Fati continues to remain a hot topic at Barcelona, as we move closer to the start of the club’s pre-season campaign on July 10.

Not long ago, Fati was destined to leave the Catalans this summer. But things have changed since, and it appears new coach Hansi Flick is ready to give him a second chance during the pre-season camp.

That is perhaps why Barcelona have made a U-turn on their decision to sell Fati this summer and may hand Flick an opportunity to closely assess his qualities.

Sevilla determined to sign Fati

In the midst of all this, Barcelona have received an official proposal from Sevilla for the services of Ansu Fati.

According to SPORT, Sevilla are determined to secure the services of Fati this summer, as part of Garcia Pimienta’s plan to shore up the options in attack and add more Barcelona DNA to the team.

Sevilla have already tabled a loan offer for Fati with an option to buy. However, their offer likely does not cover them paying even half of Fati’s salary, which is a problem for Barcelona.

The Blaugrana do not view Sevilla’s offer as economically feasible and are holding out for better offers.

Sevilla, meanwhile, have already held talks with the player’s agent, trying to sell their project under Pimienta.

What’s next for Fati?

Until Barcelona either receive an improved offer from Sevilla or get proposals from elsewhere, Ansu Fati will remain at the club.

The player, for his part, is prioritising a stay at Barça as he looks to make an impression under new coach Hansi Flick.

The coming few weeks, to that end, could prove to be crucial as Fati will be awarded a lifeline.
