More information has emerged regarding the head injury that Alvaro Morata suffered during AC Milan’s training session yesterday.

It was reported by Sky in the afternoon that Morata had to be taken to hospital for a CT scan following a collision of heads with Strahinja Pavlovic. Thankfully the checks did not reveal and more serious damage, but he will miss tomorrow’s game against Cagliari.

According to Il Giornale (via MilanNews), the Spanish forward never lost consciousness after the incident, but had ‘severe dizziness’ and thus concussion protocol will have kicked in meaning the upmost precaution is needed.

MilanNews meanwhile are reporting that the injury means that the 32-year-old will most likely not be able to report to the Spanish national team for the matches against Denmark and Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League.

Presuming Morata does not report for international duty, it will be a welcome couple of weeks of rest for him given how many games he has started for Milan in recent weeks, in the absence of other options.

All three other strikers – Tammy Abraham, Luka Jovic and perhaps even Francesco Camarda – will be eligible. At present reports are suggesting that Abraham will be the one to lead the line in Sardinia.
