Milan start two teenage sensations, Alex Jimenez and Mattia Liberali, with Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata injured as Paulo Fonseca takes a stand against Patrick Vieira’s unbeaten Genoa.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 GMT.

The Rossoneri cannot seem to find any kind of consistency, as after the 2-1 defeat to Atalanta, coach Fonseca turned his rage from the referee towards his own players for their lacklustre showing in the 2-1 Champions League win over Crvena Zvezda.

He openly slammed some players for “not giving their all” and threatened to use some of the Milan Futuro youth team starlets instead.

Fonseca does precisely that, dropping Theo Hernandez to the bench in favour of Alex Jimenez, while 17-year-old Mattia Liberali is given his Serie A debut in place of injured Yunus Musah.

Injuries are really piling up, as Milan are without Alvaro Morata, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Musah, Ismael Bennacer, Luka Jovic, Kevin Zeroli and Alessandro Florenzi.

Tammy Abraham therefore starts upfront after his goal in the Champions League, supported by Rafael Leao, Samuel Chukwueze and Liberali.

Genoa are still unbeaten since Patrick Vieira took over and it is a special return to San Siro for the former Milan player.

He’s not the only one, as tonight the Diavolo are celebrating the 125th anniversary of the club’s foundation, inviting legends like Marco van Basten, Franco Baresi, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard, Clarence Seedorf, Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi onto the pitch before kick-off.

They are also wearing the special anniversary kit.

Genoa are missing long-term absentees Junior Messias, Caleb Ekuban, Jeff Ekhator, Koni De Winter, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Honest Ahanor.

However, Johan Vasquez returns from suspension to bolster the defence behind Andrea Pinamonti and Juventus-owned Fabio Miretti.

Ex-Milan striker Mario Balotelli is on the bench.
