Inter Milan cruised to a commanding 4-1 victory in Friday’s Serie A Femminile derby clash against AC Milan. Meanwhile, Napoli edged out Sampdoria in a pivotal battle between the bottom two sides in the league.

Fiorentina 3-1 Juventus

Recently crowned champions Juventus fell to a disappointing defeat in their recent meeting with Fiorentina. Madelen Janogy headed in from Sofie Bredgaard’s deep corner to give the hosts a ninth-minute lead. Bredgaard then won a penalty, drawing a foul from Lindsey Thomas. Emma Severini calmly rolled the ball home from the spot to give her side a two-goal lead at the break.

As the game drifted into the closing stages, Janogy grabbed her second and Fiorentina’s third to seal all three points. AC Milan 1-4 Inter

Marija Milinković of Inter grabbed an early opener in Friday’s Serie A derby. The defender steered home a rebound after Noemi Fedele made a smart save from Elisa Polli’s header. Milan were given the chance to equalise from the penalty spot following a handball infringement. Chanté Dompig assumed responsibility to send the goalkeeper the wrong way, registering her sixth league goal of the season.

After going into the break on level terms, Inter’s Polli restored the visitors’ advantage just shy of the hour mark. The forward showcased her nimble footwork to create space and guide a left-footed shot into the bottom corner. Tessa Wullaert extended the lead for Inter in the 85th minute before grabbing her second in stoppage time to seal a memorable Serie A derby victory.

Napoli 2-1 Sampdoria

Napoli came from behind to get the better of relegation rivals Sampdoria. Marta Llopis Àlvarez pounced on a loose ball to send a first-time shot past the despairing Doris Bačić in the 10th minute. However, Michela Giordano produced a swift response to level the scoreline against her former club. The Napoli full-back cut inside onto her right foot, then curled the ball into the far corner.

Melissa Bellucci went on to complete the turnaround just before the hour mark. The 24-year-old latched onto a poor defensive pass and calmly slid the ball past Kathrine Larsen. Substitute Sara Baldi went agonisingly close to netting a late equaliser when she thumped the ball against the crossbar. Napoli ultimately scraped over the line to end their six-game winless run, moving them four points clear of basement side Sampdoria. As for the visitors, they may have a game in hand, but their relegation could be confirmed in their next outing against Como.

Como 0-4 Lazio

Lazio eased to a fourth consecutive victory in Sunday’s away meeting with Como. Clarisse Le Bihan made a difficult header look easy as she opened the scoring shortly before the 30-minute mark. Le Bihan then added a second from the penalty spot after Agnete Marcussen fouled Martina Piemonte in the box.

The Lazio attacker went on to complete her hat-trick in the opening stages of the second period. Despite her best efforts, Como goalkeeper Astrid Gilardi was unable to stop Le Bihan’s audacious long-range effort from crossing the line. Le Bihan then added an assist to her player of the match performance, laying the ball off for Martina Piemonte to cut inside and curl it into the far corner.
