378 matches in a Juventus shirt.

His twelve years in Bianconero - from the 1978/1979 season to the 1989/1990 season - included extreme emotions and unforgettable successes. Between the 1970s and 1980s, he formed part of a back four as centre back alongside Gaetano Scirea, Claudio Gentile and Antonio Cabrini that is renowned as one of the best in Italian and world football history. His sleeves were rolled up above his elbows come rain or shine, it didn't matter. That was ‘his’ shirt. His way of playing the game. A warning for the opposing centre forward. Twelve trophies won in a Juventus shirt: 4 Scudetti, 3 Coppa Italia, a Coppa dei Campioni, a Cup Winners' Cup, a UEFA Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and, icing on the cake, an Intercontinental Cup, whilst he even wore the captain's armband in his last season before retiring. Sergio then won another UEFA Cup as assistant coach when a certain Giovanni Trapattoni was the Juventus coach in the 1992/93 season.

In 2011 Juventus honoured him with a commemorative star on the Walk of Fame at the Allianz Stadium for his extraordinary career in our colours. Generations of fans have fallen in love with his charisma, his love for Juventus ever since he was a child - and his qualities, above all as a man as well as a footballer.

We are talking about Sergio Brio, Juventus icon and one of the legends of our club, who from today - Friday 25 October 2024 - is officially a Juventus Fan Ambassador.

Sergio won the hearts of so many Juventus fans through his passion and commitment to the club over the course of more than a decade in Bianconero, and from today his role will be entirely focused on the fans.

Brio begins a journey that will constantly link him to the activities of affiliated fans, Members and, above all, Official Fan Clubs. The best way to transmit to the new generations the passion for these colours and what ‘being a Juventus fan’ really means.

“The passion of the fans is an inspiration for Juventus,” began Francesco Calvo, Managing Director of Revenue & Institutional Relations, “and pushes us every day to work to improve. For this reason, we are proud that Sergio has decided to embrace this adventure, and we are sure that he will show the same determination in this role as he did as a Juventus defender for over a decade, leading them to great success. He will accompany his colleagues along this path and, listening to the voices of the Juventus fans, he will help us build an all-round experience that will allow us to further develop this important project.”

“Juventus has been fundamental to my development,” said Sergio Brio, “not only as a player, but above all as a man. Coming back today, at 68 years of age, is a source of pride, a great gift that this club has given me.”

Welcome home, Sergio!
