Sell Oh, keep Kyogo, sign Miovski now then add Idah later in the window

We can’t hang around waiting for Idah decision. We need to look at other targets.

The hope of a permanent move for Adam Idah seems to diminish by the day. The striker was out of the picture at Norwich hence his loan move to Celtic in January, but now that the Carrow Road side have a new man in charge, that could be about to change.

New boss Johannes Hoff Thorup understandably wants to evaluate his squad before making any decisions on players in his squad. The most positive aspect of this is that any new signings he wants to bring in will have to be funded by player sales so if Adam Idah makes his position clear – that he wants to join Celtic – the new Norwich manager may grant him his wish, maximise the fee from Celtic and use those funds to progress his own recruitment plans.

Adam had a terrific spell at the club and his goals were a major part in us winning the double. It wasn’t just his goals, but his all round play and attitude were spot on, and were the attributes required as a Celtic striker.

Johannes Hoff Throup will know this and Adam, like all his Norwich City teammates, will be doing his best to impress the new man, so in that regard it could be argued that it will be more unlikely for Idah to be made available for transfer, or if so the valuation will be way out of Celtic’s reach.

If that turns out to be the case, it’s imperative that we expand our search for a new striker. With Oh close to joining Belgian side Genk it will leave only Kyogo as our only available striker, and there’s even some doubt about him remaining at Celtic.

Celtic will have a better handle on the Adam Idah situation than anyone else, but it’s vital that their patience isn’t allowed to be tested too much by Norwich City, who may think that the longer they stall the more desperate Celtic will become and the higher the price they’ll achieve. However in the meantime their own targets could end up going elsewhere.

Names such as Bojan Miovski and Mathias Kvistgaarden have been linked as potential targets. Let’s hope the club are actively seeking players of that quality as it’s vital we get someone in the door before the start of pre-season.

Both Miovski and Kvistgaarden look set to move this summer and here should be strong interest in both.

Selling Oh, keeping Kyogo, signing Bojan Miovski now then adding Adam Idah would give Celtic the strength up top that we haven’t had for some time.
