Scotland international Sandy MacIver has signed for Washington Spirit from Manchester City, whom she joined in the summer of 2022.
The Cheshire-born keeper, who played through all the England development teams and was included in the Team GB squad for the 2020 Olympics, later committed to Scotland for whom she made her debut in 2023.
She played 39 times for Everton before moving to Manchester City, making just 11 appearances in all competitions due to injuries.
Her 2023-24 campaign was cut short and the following April she ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament while with Scotland.
With her rehabilitation process complete, MacIver has signed a three-year deal with Washington Spirit who were NWSL runners-up last year.
MacIver told washingtonspirit.com: “I’m looking forward to joining a world-leading club and organization. The Spirit is an ambitious team and I’m excited to be part of it.”
