According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Nassr have now opened talks with Leverkusen over the possibility of signing the 24-year-old this month as a replacement for Anderson Talisca.
German football magazine Kicker also recently named Al Nassr as suitors for Boniface, claiming that Die Werkself could let the striker go for a fee in excess of €50 million.
Patrik Schick's impressive form up front would make the loss of Boniface more acceptable to Leverkusen, but a deal would still depend on the German champions finding a suitable replacement for the Nigerian striker.
Boniface, 24, has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
He recently returned to Die Werkself's squad following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
