Reports in Italy claim that newly-promoted Sassuolo are considering offering deals for Neal Maupay and former Juventus attacker Mohamed Ihattaren after his return to regular competitive action last year.
Sassuolo, who won the Serie B title in 2024-25, are looking at providing head coach Fabio Grosso with new attacking additions ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, former Brighton and Everton striker Maupay, currently on the books of Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille, is of interest to the Neroverdi.

The Frenchman was a regular starter in Ligue 1 in the first part of the 2024-25 season, but largely had to settle for appearances off the bench or as a back-up following the arrival of the January arrival of Amine Gouiri, who netted 10 league goals from his first 14 appearances in the second half of the season.
It remains to be seen whether Marseille would be open to the sale of Maupay, and if so, how much it will cost Saasuolo to sign him.
Additionally, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Sassuolo are also interested in a potential deal for former PSV and Juventus talent Ihattaren.

The 23-year-old has already been signed by Juve and Sampdoria in Serie A in the past, but failed to make a single appearance for either side amidst a long series of personal troubles and accusations of unprofessionalism.
However, for the first time in five seasons, Ihattaren racked up over 20 league appearances last term with Dutch outfit RKC Waalwijk.
Following their relegation from the Eredivisie last season, and having only signed a short-term contract until the end of the 2024-25 season, the 23-year-old is expected to be on the move again.
