Bukayo Saka has said Arsenal always had confidence that Kai Havertz would be an ‘unbelievable player’ for the club.

Havertz has started the season in fine form with four goals in seven Premier League appearances, alongside a crucial goal in a Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The Germany international has continued on his form from last season’s run-in, which has been in contrast to a tough start with the Gunners after his £65m arrival from Chelsea in 2023.

Havertz faced criticism during his early weeks as an Arsenal player with uncertainty surrounding his best role in Mikel Arteta’s side. He has settled at centre-forward to lead the line impressively for the North Londoners, forming an impressive connection with Saka in the final third.

Havertz will score ‘a lot of goals’ for Arsenal this season

The latter lavished praise on Havertz’s recent performances and backed the German to ‘score a lot of goals’ this season.

“I’ve always thought Kai’s an unbelievable player,” Saka told CBS.

“Everyone in the dressing room did too. We’re so happy that he’s showing that. This season he has come out with even more confidence, I think he’s scored in almost every game.

“He’s going to score a lot of goals this season. He has a really good understanding around the box, when to attack it, and that’s why he gets a lot of chances and that’s why hopefully he’ll score a lot of goals.”
