Rui Patricio officially departs Roma: “What an unforgettable journey.” | OneFootball

Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio officially concluded his spell at Roma.

On Sunday June 30th, Patricio’s contract with the capital club expired.

The player thus becomes a free agent after spending the last three years in the Italian capital.

In an emotional message on Instagram, Patricio – who helped lead Roma to a historic Conference League title in 2022 – thanked the club and its fans.

“Thank you Roma for these 3 years! 129 matches, and 2 European finals!

I thank the Board of Directors, the players, the coaches, the medical team, the warehouse workers, the kitchen staff, the security guards, the Roma press office staff, and all those with whom I have worked in recent years.

A special thought and a big hug to all the fans who supported me on this unforgettable journey!

My journey to Roma ends like this, taking with me many professional and personal memories. I wish you all the best, and I hope that you continue to win many other competitions with the same passion and determination that has distinguished us up to now!
