Red Devils have signed Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu but remain active
The Red Devils fell to 13th in the Premier League table on Sunday with a 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, just hours after Marcus Rashford was undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move from United to Aston Villa.
United’s only major first team signing during the winter window has been Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, but they are planning to be active in the market on deadline day, it is understood. The deadline in England is 11pm on Monday.
Amorim admitted the club are trying to sign players but refused to answer a question specifically about Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, who United have been linked with in recent days.
“We are trying everything to improve the team without doing the mistakes of the past," he said.
“We will see. There is one more day. Let’s wait until the window is closed. We are trying the best to improve the team. This market is very hard on the clubs. To make some deals here, it’s hard.
“We are trying everything, guys. I want so bad to improve the team. I know what the team needs.”
Amorim also believes Lisandro Martinez has suffered a “serious” injury and could miss a large amount of time after the centre-back went off with an injury in the second half against Palace.
“He is really important for us,” Amorim said. “I think it’s a bad situation. Let’s wait to assess with the doctor, but I think it’s a serious situation.”
