Al Hilal have recruited Roshn Saudi League royalty in signing Abderrazak Hamdallah on loan from fellow capital club Al Shabab.

The deal, which allows the Moroccan to go straight into the 2023-24 RSL champions’ squad at the FIFA Club World Cup, was announced late on Wednesday.

Hamdallah, a three-time RSL golden boot winner who sits second in the competition’s all-time goalscorer list, said of his move to Al Hilal: “I’m very happy to join Al Hilal, the great team that is proudly representing the Kingdom perfectly.

“I will do my best and try as much as I can to add to the squad to reach more and more in this tournament.”

Al Hilal take on Brazil side Fluminense in the quarter-final of the Club World Cup in Orlando on Friday having seen off European heavyweights Manchester City in the last 16 earlier this week.

In joining Al Hilal, Hamdallah completes a remarkable quartet RSL clubs to represent. He debuted in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr in 2018, scoring 34 goals to fire the team to the top-flight title.

Hamdallah, now 34, moved to Al Ittihad in December 2021, where he would go on to add another championship and golden boot in the 2022-23 season.
