Rasmus Hojlund was left out of Ruben Amorim’s matchday squad for Manchester United’s season-opener at home to Arsenal.
Despite featuring for the side throughout pre-season and being involved in every training session, the Dane has seemingly been added to INEOS’ contingent of players that they’re desperate to offload before deadline day.
This comes after Benjamin Sesko, who made his debut off the bench, was brought in to become Amorim’s first-choice No.9, immediately casting doubt over Hojlund’s future.

It was shortly confirmed that United would look to part ways with the 22-year-old – just two years after the club forked out £64 million (whilst pledging an additional £8m in add-ons) to sign him from Atalanta.
When Hojlund’s omission was verified before kick-off, Fabrizio Romano took to X/Twitter to claim it was ‘definitely over’ between the forward and United.
He added that the board are now exploring how they can facilitate his departure in the coming weeks, with both a loan and permanent transfer being considered.
Hojlund has garnered interest from a host of Serie A outfits, which would allow him to return to the league where he spent the 2022/2023 term before being pursued by United.
AC Milan are thought to be leading the race and, after initially closing the door to any summer move from his boyhood club, the striker has now begun engaging in talks to make a switch to the San Siro.
It was also reported last week that Fulham were considering testing the Reds’ resolve with an offer, but they wanted to be certain he would green-light the move before making any formal approaches.
