A return to Roma for former coach Rudi Garcia has been described as the ‘easiest’ option for the Giallorossi as they search for an Ivan Juric replacement, while Massimiliano Allegri and Roberto Mancini have been labelled ‘the dream’ options in Monday’s papers.
Roma are on the hunt for a new head coach after the dismissal of Juric on Sunday afternoon. The Croatian received his marching orders following the 3-2 loss at home against Bologna in Serie A.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Garcia is quickly emerging as one of the most serious options for Roma on their hunt for a new head coach. The Frenchman recorded two consecutive second-place finishes during his first spell at the Stadio Olimpico between 2013 and 2016.
Monday’s report suggests that the 60-year-old has ‘unfinished business’ in the capital, as well as pointing to the fact that Roma’s next game is against Napoli, the team that Garcia left almost exactly a year ago.
Allegri and Mancini have also been mentioned as possible options, but are described as the ‘dream’ candidates, and according to Corriere dello Sport, neither have been contacted directly by Giallorossi representatives yet.
Allegri raised eyebrows by attending the 1-1 draw between Inter and Napoli at San Siro on Sunday evening, a game involving Roma’s next opponents, Napoli.
Mancini, meanwhile, reportedly watched the game on television, but like Allegri, he has also not been contacted directly thus far.
