Roma have sealed the deal for Jan Ziolkowski and aim to complete two more signings before deadline day, a left wing-back and a pacey attacker, with Jadon Sancho still on their radar despite the challenges to sign him.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi will pay €6M for the Polish defender, plus a 10 percent resale clause. He’ll fly to Italy on Friday after the return leg of the Conference League playoff. The 20-year-old has 39 appearances with Legia Warszawa under his belt.
Roma will fill out their defense with Ziolkowski and are in the hunt for an Angelino deputy wide. They have reached out to Liverpool to inquire about Konstantinos Tsimikas, who faces considerable competition for minutes, Gianluca Di Marzio reports. The capital club wants him on an initial loan. It remains to be seen whether the counterparty is open to the formula and to parting ways with him in general. He headed to Anfield from Olympiacos in 2020 and has featured in 115 matches since, providing 18 assists.
The Giallorossi remain engaged in a back-and-forth with Sancho, who hasn’t made up their mind yet, Mediaset informs. Despite some rumors, Gian Piero Gasperini stated that he hadn’t turned them down. However, they have started eyeing Tyrique George, who has the same agent. The Chelsea youth product has notched 3 goals and 5 assists in 26 games with the senior team. The Blues prefer letting him go on a permanent move with a significant sell-on clause, Fabrizio Romano reports.
It’s pretty clear that they are operating on a shoestring late in the window after a few pricey additions early on. Landing Sancho would turn their summer from solid to great.
