An update on the ongoing transfer chatter linking La Liga giants Real Madrid with a move for Manchester City star Rodri has on Friday been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Blancos insider José Félix Díaz, and confirms that, as of this moment, the capital club have not approached their counterparts at The Etihad.

The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park at present.

Following the respective departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić in the space of the last 12 months, Xabi Alonso’s squad is considered to be lacking when it comes to nous and experience in midfield.

This week, the name of Rodri has in turn returned to the forefront of the headlines in Madrid.

As alluded to above, however, those of a Blancos persuasion hopeful of their side landing the Ballon d’Or winner, for the time being at least, need not get their hopes up.

As per a report from journalist José Félix Díaz:

‘There has been no movement from Real Madrid regarding Rodrigo for his possible arrival this summer.’
