Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has early this week spoken out on his difficult start to the new campaign.
Frontman Lewandowski, for his part, was not afforded a starting berth in any of Barcelona’s first three fixtures of 2025/26.
In the first, against Mallorca, the Pole missed out entirely owing to an injury setback.
In the Blaugrana’s two outings since, meanwhile, Lewandowski has been forced to make do with a spot on the bench.
With Ferran Torres impressing in his more prominent recent role, it has in turn been suggested that Hansi Flick could continue with the Spaniard as his first-choice centre-forward.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his playing time was put to Lewandowski himself.
The 37-year-old, though, appeared entirely unfazed, in responding:
“My lack of minutes at Barça? Let’s not fool ourselves, I was injured for two weeks. But the season has just started, it’s very long.”
