It's no secret Liverpool want Marc Guehi this summer.

The Crystal Palace centre-back is regarded as the club's top target to replace the soon to be departing Jarell Quansah.

A deal for Guehi makes perfect sense, he's homegrown and has a lot of experience already despite only being 24-years-old. A proven Premier League player with over 20 caps for England, it's rare that this kind of opportunity presents itself.

With one year left on his contract, Palace will know they are in a difficult situation and could be forced to part ways with him for a cut price.

But Guehi may not be the only transfer involving Liverpool and Crystal Palace this summer.

Palace are on a mission at the moment. They are still facing a precarious future over their fate in Europe, although it looks like that will be sorted and they will be allowed to compete in the Europa League next season.

For that, they will have to bolster their squad and this could see them target a Liverpool player who has been on their radar in the past.

In January Ben Doak was heavily linked with a move to Palace. At the time, Palace could not quite reach an agreement with Liverpool. However, with more money coming in through the sale of Guehi, perhaps they could now find the necessary fee required to sign Doak.

The Scotsman is someone who could really bolster Palace's options and give them the much needed depth they require to compete both in the league and in Europe.

It's a deal we can't write off, especially because Palace could be losing Eberechi Eze as well, which will necessitate the need to add further attackers to their squad.

But Richard Hughes could be on the phone with Palace over another transfer. Yes, it won't just end with Guehi and Doak, there could be a triple transfer deal on the cards.

According to Reluctant Nicko, Palace are bracing themselves for bids from Adam Wharton and have made an enquiry to sign Andy Diouf from RC Lens as a potential replacement.

Wharton is on Liverpool's radar as per the Daily Mail and he's available for around £60m. Obviously, Liverpool have spent a lot of money this summer so it really depends on outgoings whether they could afford the England international.

However, there is clearly a deal to be had here. Palace would not be looking at replacements for Wharton if they didn't seriously think there might be a chance he could leave this summer.

And if he does leave, Liverpool is the perfect destination. Wharton would be the perfect replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold's ability to progress the ball from deep.

Not to mention, Hughes may be able to manage negotiations better after having already dealt with Palace twice before.
