Corinthians have outlined their approach for the upcoming interruption in the Brazilian football calendar due to the Club World Cup, which will run from 14 June to 13 July in the United States. Unlike Palmeiras, who will be representing Brazil at the tournament, Corinthians will not participate and have opted to use the break to both rest their squad and prepare for the league’s resumption.
Immediately after their Campeonato Brasileiro fixture against Grêmio on 12 June, the squad will be granted a 15-day holiday, a decision influenced by the club’s adherence to Brazil’s employment regulations, which require players to receive 30 days of paid leave per year. Club executives determined that, given the congested fixture list and a season finishing around 20 December, it would not be feasible to grant the entire leave at the season’s end. The solution is to split the time off: 15 days now, with the remaining days after the season concludes.
Players and technical staff are scheduled to regroup on 28 June at the CT Joaquim Grava training complex. Consistent with January’s preseason, the club will conduct preparations entirely at its own facilities, which offer multiple full-sized pitches, accommodations, and rehabilitation equipment. The center has also recently undergone upgrades, with work on a new tactical briefing room expected to finish by the end of July.
As of now, Corinthians have not confirmed whether they will play any friendlies or training matches during this interseason. However, the staff is considering the possibility of at least one training game to offer coach Dorival Júnior the opportunity to experiment during the extended period without competitive fixtures.
Upon return, the focus will shift immediately to preparations for the next Brasileirao match against Red Bull Bragantino. The exact date and time for this 13th-round fixture have not yet been announced by the CBF, but Corinthians will be the designated home team.
This pragmatic approach reflects the realities of the domestic calendar and places a premium both on player welfare and effective use of the break. The phased holiday plan is intended to keep the squad fresh while maximizing recovery and tactical readiness for what promises to be a packed conclusion to the season.
