Inter Milan scouted Luca Marianucci, Morten Frendrup, and Koni de Winter in today’s Serie A match between Genoa and Empoli.
This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that Nerazzurri scouts were on hand, with a particular eye on young Empoli defender Marianucci.
Genoa hosted Empoli in Serie A this afternoon.
For the Grifone, it was a chance to further solidify their place in midtable. Empoli, meanwhile, remain very much fighting for their survival in the top flight.
The Tuscan side deservedly went in 0-1 up at halftime. They had followed up their surprise shootout victory over Juventus in the Coppa Italia with an impressive first half performance.
However, in the second half Genoa fought back. And in the end it was a howler from goalkeeper Marco Silvestri which cost Empoli, as they had to settle for a point which leaves them in the bottom three.
According to FCIN, there were Inter Milan scouts present at the Marassi for yesterday’s match.
First and foremost, the Nerazzurri scouts were following the performance of 20-year-old Empoli defender Luca Marianucci.

Marianucci has broken into the Empoli starting eleven in recent weeks. An injury to Ardian Ismajli has handed him the opportunity.
And according to FCIN, Marianucci’s performances have caused Inter Milan to take notice.
Therefore, reports the outlet, Nerazzurri scouts were closely watching how the young Empoli defender did today.
Meanwhile, FCIN reports, Inter scouts were also keeping an eye on two Genoa players in particular.
