Barcelona didn’t have the best of time on Saturday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo – a result that infuriated coach Hansi Flick.
Most players were not at their best and must improve as Barcelona look to take on Brest in the UEFA Champions League.
However, in a light-hearted moment captured during a recent match against Celta, Barcelona’s young midfielder Fermin Lopez was seen sharing a humorous exchange with goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
The conversation revolved around a crucial error by former Barcelona player Oscar Mingueza that led to Raphinha’s goal.
After the goal, Szczesny, while sitting on the bench, turned to Fermin and quipped, “Did Mingueza play here?”
Fermin confirmed, “Yes, he was at Barça.” Szczesny’s quick-witted reply, “Well, thanks to him,” drew a chuckle from the young Barcelona midfielder.
Fermin then added with a smile, “He’s from the academy. Thanks, Mingueza.”
Despite Mingueza’s mistake, however, Barcelona were not able to secure all three points on the day as the team relinquished their two-goal lead in the final six minutes.
But Flick won’t settle for anything less than three points as Barça take on Brest later tonight – a game where Eric Roy’s team is set to offer a tough fight to the Blaugrana.
