Mike Maignan underwent a scan on Tuesday after the head injury he sustained during the win over Udinese, and further complications have been ruled out.
As Corriere dello Sport recall, Maignan had a nasty accidental collision with his teammate Alex Jimenez during the game at the Stadio Friuli and it forced him off the field, as per the concussion protocol that safeguards players.
Fortunately, the risk of a head injury was immediately eliminated by the first tests, but Maignan still spent the night under observation and was discharged the following day. Yesterday, the Frenchman underwent new specialist checks which ruled out complications.
Thus, Maignan will gradually be able to return to training with his teammates in the coming days. The note from Milan reads as follows: ‘Today Mike Maignan underwent specialist tests that ruled out complications. In the next few days Mike will be able to gradually resume training’.
In all likelihood, Maignan will also rest in the next match against Atalanta, where Marco Sportiello is expected to defend the Rossoneri’s goal against his former team. The former Lille player could return to the field for the derby against Inter, in the return leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.

Sky also report that the CT scan carried out on Tuesday 15 April ruled out further problems and that the goalkeeper is feeling much better. The head trauma he suffered in Udine had no consequences and in the next few days the Frenchman will be able to gradually resume training.
Santiago Gimenez continued to carry out individual work, he still feels discomfort in his side and is not 100%. Sérgio Conceição hopes to recover him for Sunday evening, when Milan will host Atalanta.
