Report – Torino Winger To Miss Serie A Opener Vs Inter Milan | OneFootball

Torino winger Alieu Njie will reportedly miss the Granata’s opening match of the Serie A season against Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Swede has suffered a muscle injury.

The Serie A season begins in just a couple of weeks.

The first match for Inter Milan will come against Torino. They host the Piemontese team at the San Siro.

Torino will boast some new attacking signings for coach Marco Baroni.

The Granata just completed a deal for Napoli striker Giovanni Leoni. The Argentine is the second player they signed from the Italian champions, after Cyril Ngonge who reunites with former Hellas Verona coach Baroni.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, one player who Baroni won’t be able to call upon is Aieu Njie.

The 20-year-old has suffered a muscle injury in preseason.

And the Gazzetta report that Njie has undergone injury tests.

These showed a muscle injury which will require at least 20-25 days to recover from.

Therefore, there would be little chance of the Swede being able to return in time for the match against Inter. That match will take place on August 25th.
