Negotiations between Inter Milan and Torino for Tajon Buchanan are underway, but the Italian champions are still reluctant to sanction the deal.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the reigning Scudetto holders will only let their second-string wingback leave the club on one condition.
Buchanan has been on the fringes of Simone Inzaghi’s squad this season.
Despite recently recovering from a long-term injury, he has found first-half opportunities at a premium.
However, Inter won’t let the 25-year-old depart Giuseppe Meazza without finding a proper replacement.
Therefore, Torino’s hopes of signing the ex-Club Brugge star hinges on Inter’s activity in the market.
With fixtures coming thick and fast, Inzaghi needs squad depth to avoid injuries to his first-team regulars.
As such, Buchanan could still have a significant place in the system, even though he hasn’t played much this season.
Meanwhile, Torino are eager to lure him away from Meazza as Paolo Vanoli hopes to bolster his attacking ranks.
Though Inter wouldn’t mind sending their misfit out on loan, they can’t let him go without landing a replacement.
Inter remain in talks with Dinamo Zagreb for Petar Sucic and hope to complete Tomas Perez’s arrival from Argentina soon.
